New Hampshire nurses in NAU's NP programs
Nashua, Manchester or Concord: an RN in any of them can take Northern Arizona University's online NP programs, because NAU's licensure table shows Meets for New Hampshire on every NP plan. The open items sit on the clinical side: New Hampshire's filing rule for outside schools is written for pre-licensure students, and NAU has published no rule on graduate clinicals beyond Arizona.

What Meets settles is narrow: NAU's coursework lines up with what a New Hampshire APRN application expects. Where you may log hours is a different matter, one for your program coordinator. The licensure disclosure page explains the whole table.
Full practice and your preceptor
Full practice is AANP's label for New Hampshire, so NP-led practices belong in your search alongside physician offices.
Whoever says yes still has to pass NAU's check under Arizona rule R4-19-502, which the preceptor requirements guide sets out, and the FNP Program Coordinator signs off on each person. Full practice changes who runs the clinic, not what NAU asks of the preceptor.
Nur 602.15 and schools based elsewhere
New Hampshire has a written filing process for schools based elsewhere. Under Nur 602.15(j), the Distance Education-Pre-Licensure section, a pre-licensure school from another state that contracts with New Hampshire facilities must tell the Board it intends to do so and give six weeks' warning ahead of each placement. The paperwork comes in three layers: a Form A petition filed annually, then per rotation the Part B Student Clinical Placement form, then per preceptor a Clinical Preceptor Agreement. Faculty from outside the state who supervise those students on site need a clean New Hampshire license.
NAU's NP students are already RNs, and the OPLC's education page puts RN-MSN and other post-licensure programs outside the Board's regulation. On that reading the filings would not reach an NAU practicum, yet it is a reading, not a ruling. The rule's standing is unsettled as well: one published copy shows it expiring Jan. 23, 2026, while the OPLC still cited it that January. Your program coordinator gives the final word; NAU's state authorization page covers SARA.
Mapping a New Hampshire search
Most New Hampshire residents live in three places: the Manchester-Nashua metro, the Concord micropolitan area, and the towns that census counts put inside the Boston metro. For employers, Concord Hospital Health System is one name; HCA owns Catholic Medical Center; Dartmouth Health runs Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center. Southern New Hampshire Health and Elliot Health System, co-founders of SolutionHealth, saw their boards propose in July 2025 to dissolve it.
Treat the list as a map legend rather than a list of NAU sites; student rules differ from one hospital to the next. Community family practices that see children and women belong on it too.
Licensing for clinicals in New Hampshire
For the Nurse Licensure Compact, New Hampshire's start date is Jan. 19, 2018. When New Hampshire is where you mainly live, the multistate license its board issues covers practice at home, satisfies NAU's admission test through Arizona's multistate provisions, and carries into compact neighbors such as Vermont and Maine. NAU treats a single-state New Hampshire license differently: admission then turns on holding an Arizona license or qualifying for one.
No APRN Compact law has passed in New Hampshire, so the NP license comes through the OPLC application NAU links. NAU's shifting license wording since 2021 is traced on the RN license page.

Questions NAU students ask
Does NAU have to file anything with New Hampshire's board before my clinicals?
As written, Nur 602.15(j) governs pre-licensure programs, and OPLC counts post-licensure programs like RN-MSN as outside the Board's reach. An NAU NP student is a licensed RN, so the rule seems aimed elsewhere. NAU publishes no ruling of its own, so confirm with your program coordinator before a New Hampshire rotation starts.
What if my best preceptor is just over the line in Massachusetts?
NAU's licensure answer follows where you are located, and New Hampshire reads Meets. A rotation across the line would fall under whatever Massachusetts' board expects of students from outside programs, plus NAU's rule that your RN license work in the practicum's state. Do PMHNP students follow the same steps in New Hampshire?
Probably, but check. The only NAU clinical handbook still readable is the FNP one, since the APRN handbook that included PMHNP was taken down, so ask your program coordinator whether the Green Form route applies to you. Plan on in-person time: NAU's catalog attaches that requirement to NUR 680.
Is New Hampshire full practice for nurse practitioners?
Yes, by AANP's classification, so an NP can lead a practice without a physician agreement. That widens your pool of candidates; NAU's preceptor standard and the FNP Program Coordinator's approval stay exactly the same.
